Our Departments
Broom Department
At Industries of the Blind of Greensboro, NC., our Broom Department is a proud manufacturer of quality blind made brooms such as our household brooms like the Sedgefield, Whisk, Toy/Hearth, Round "Witches", and our best household broom, the Skilcraft. Our Broom Department also manufactures industrial brooms such as the 20lb, 24lb, and 28lb Mill brooms, along with a 32lb and 36lb Warehouse broom. Push brooms are also manufactured by this department, among them are an 18", 24", and 36" push broom head.
Assembly Department
At Industries of the Blind of Greensboro, NC., our Assembly Department is a proud manufacturer of quality blind made products such as clipboards, archboards, mops, mop handles, transparency sheets, paint rollers, paint roller kits, and trash bags.
Industries of the Blind Lamp Distribution Center
At our Lamp Distribution Center, employees manage an inventory in excess of four million light bulbs by using state-of -the-art computers and voice interactive technology. This center provides service to the military by storing, packaging, and shipping lighting supplies to government installations around the world.
Pen Department
At Industries of the Blind of Greensboro, NC., our Pen Department is a proud manufacturer of quality blind made ink pens such as the Aristocrat, Vista and Vista Gel, Dignitary, Biodegradable pens, Recycled pens, and our rubberized pens.
Quality Control Department
At Industries of the Blind of Greensboro, NC., our Quality Control Department inspects and approves all raw materials upon receipt and inspects completed products before shipping. Our products are of the highest quality and meet or exceed all government standards.
Sewing Department
At Industries of the Blind of Greensboro, NC., our Sewing Department is a proud manufacturer of quality blind made products such as cotton and rayon mopheads, moisture wicking t-shirts, women's shirt necktabs, ironing board covers, dry dust mops, and household string mops.
Textile Department
At Industries of the Blind of Greensboro, NC., our Textiles Department is a proud manufacturer of quality blind made products.This department leads the way in making helmet covers for the advanced combat uniform (ACU) for the military. With very rigid guidelines to follow, they have become one of the premier manufacturers of this product.
Shipping Department
At Industries of the Blind of Greensboro, NC., our Shipping Department is responsible for the shipping of our products the most cost effective way. This department is also responsible for the 2 to 3 day turn around of most orders placed.
Because everyone has different capabilities Industries of the Blind (IOB) offers many employment choices. Full or part-time positions are available in manufacturing, warehousing, administration, supervision, and management. At our manufacturing facility, employees assemble and package ball point pens, clipboards, brooms, mops, and other office and household products for government and commercial customers. Employees also sew military apparel and protective equipment for the Armed Forces. When necessary, equipment and work stations may be adapted to accommodate any special needs of employees. At our lamp distribution warehouse, employees manage an inventory in excess of four million light bulbs by using state-of-the-art computers and voice interactive technology. This center provides service to the military by storing, packaging, and shipping lighting supplies to government installations around the world.
